As a Senior Venture Architect in the GHARAGE, you will be part of the Venture Building team, collaborating with a diverse mix of strategists, creatives, researchers, designers, and entrepreneurs.  
 
Our Venture Building unit is the engine to build and test new business models innovating the status quo, but even more so: creating what’s next. We focus on developing businesses, brands, and experiences with a focus on innovative travel services and retail concepts.  
 
As a Senior Venture Architect, you will drive ideas and projects through the Venture Building process, from the early stages all the way to launch, and, in some cases may even transition to running these new businesses in the market. Ideally, you have a strong business acumen paired with the ability to see the bigger picture from idea to execution. This role reports to the Head of Venture Building of the GHARAGE. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage projects and guide them through the venture building process. 
  • Identify transformative and disruptive business opportunities for travel and retail and analyze their potential. 
  • Develop product mechanics and business models with solid business cases (financial modelling including different scenarios, monetization models and go-to-market strategies). 
  • Validate product and business model approaches (test commercialization assumption). 
  • Build the concepts and bring them to life by ensuring all aspects of the operational concept for the initial launch are in place. 
  • Organize and lead timings, structures, and capacities. 
  • Be a sparring partner to the other GHARAGE team members and units. 
  • Brief and guide freelancers during the venture- and brand-building processes. 
  • Prepare and present convincing and visually appealing presentations on different levels. 
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders from GHARAGE and Gebr. Heinemann 

PROFILE:

  • You are an independent, proactive entrepreneur with the ability to handle complex problems and break them down into actionable steps in a project plan. 
  • You have an in-depth understanding of digital innovation, business principles and a good analytical skillset.  
  • You have min. 5 years of relevant work experience in venture building, product development, project management, or similar. 
  • You have a proven track record of ventures you have been part of. 
  • You seek to embrace new technologies with a consumer-centric mindset. 
  • You are interested in different kind of ventures with the ability to challenge these. 
  • You can work independently on a project.  
  • You are an excellent team player with an inspirational can-do attitude that goes beyond job descriptions.  
  • You have an affinity for the travel and retail industries. 
  • You are fluent in English; knowledge of German is nice to have. 
  • You are based in or willing to relocate to Hamburg, Germany.
